Do-It-Yourself Wiper Replacement Steps - Fargo, ND

Heavy snow in the winter can be unforgiving to your car, especially your wiper blades. To prepare for spring and summer and eventual rainfall, it’s imperative that you have new wiper blades for whatever season is around the corner.

At Corwin Toyota, we want to make sure your car is well-equipped to tackle the elements. Changing your wiper blades is an important part of this process.

Our friendly service staff can easily replace your blades, but if you need to tackle this project on your own, here’s an easy to follow walk-through guide. Good luck!

Steps to Change Your Wiper Blades

Pull Back Wiper Arms – Pull wiper arms away from the windshield so you more easily replace the old blades. Make sure not to pull back too far, and be gentle.

Unhook Old Blades – Unclick the old blades from the arms and slide them off the arms.

Put on New Blades – Slide the blades onto the arms, making sure you hear a clicking noise to indicate they’ve been secured.

Re-position Blade Arms – They should be back in their normal resting position along your windshield. Be careful not to let the arms hit the windshield.

And there you go! We hope you were able to change both blades fairly easily. If not, don’t hesitate to contact us for help or schedule an appointment. Below is a video that will further help walk you through the steps.

Now that your car has fresh wiper blades, it’ll be able to stand up to whatever Mother Nature throws its way!
